The EndNote Find & Insert My References dialog box will appear.From the menu bar, select Tools > EndNote X6 > Find Citation(s).You can either insert a citation from within Microsoft Word or from within EndNote.
When you are ready to cite a source, position the cursor where you want to insert a citation. The references will be placed in a temporary Duplicate References group for later review. Click Skip to leave both references in the library. Click Keep This Record to save the preferred reference and discard the other in the trash. When you install EndNote on your computer, an EndNote submenu is automatically added to the Tools menu in Microsoft Word. EndNote X7 is compatible with Microsoft Word 20. If you’d prefer not to upgrade to EndNote X9, you may keep working on your current macOS. However, we want to continue to support you. Since Apple has made the decision to drop all 32-bit application support, we expect that macOS 10.15 Catalina will not run EndNote X8 and earlier. 
If you already have EndNote X9, please install all updates as they become available to avoid interruption in your workflow. Apple has made the decision to drop all 32-bit application support with this release, which will impact EndNote.ĮndNote X9 for macOS will be extensively updated for compatibility prior to the launch of Catalina.
